Red Carpet Fashion

The Oscars, a night to remember. Celebrities, designers and the audience all unite for this glamorous night. As a 20 something year old young woman (stop trying to guess how old I am and just read) I anxiously wait for this major event yearly , I take fashion , hairstyle and make-up tips from the stars and day dream about what it would feel like to walk on that red carpet. Last year's Oscars Best Dressed list holds 11 actresses that all look fabulous. From plain and simple to luxuriously embroidered dresses, here are 2009's Best Dressed Celebs:
1. Jennifer Aniston appeared with John Mayer, showed off her exquisite body in an intricately beaded platinum Valentino gown.
2. Age is nothing but a number when it comes to actress Meryl Streep. She proved that gray can look stunning on the red carpet even more than black or white, as she dazzled with her off the shoulder number.
3. Petite Natalie Portman arrived in a bold strapless bubble pink Rodarte gown, with a Grecian inspired criss-cross bodice embellished with multicolored sequins.
4. Elie Saab did it again and made us Arabs proud. He elegantly dressed the famous star Angelina Jolie in an all black demure slit gown with sheer overlay and sweetheart strapless neckline.
5. Also in black, actress Diane Lane proved that basic black doesn’t have to be boring. Her strapless mermaid-hem dress lets the stunning diamond accessories -- and her natural beauty, of course -- really shine.
6. Penelope Cruz looked like a wonderful bride in her vintage Balmain strapless gown with swaths of tulle cascading down the full skirt and dramatic train, finished with lace detail. Understated accessories and a simple up do made this look classic Hollywood glam.
7. Zuhair Murad dressed teen star Miley Cyrus stunningly in an all sequined, age appropriate, petal skirted gown. She carried the look beautifully although receiving some comments on how she looked like a Christmas tree.
8. "Rachel getting married" star, Anne Hathaway worked the red carpet in a masterpiece. Her nude, strapless Armani Prive gown sparkled with all-over sequins and paillette embellishment.
9. For the first time on the red carpet, "Benjamin Button" beauty, Taraji P. Henson glowed at her very first Oscars in a white strapless Roberto Cavalli gown with intricate tier detail, a red satin clutch and a stunning vintage 19th-century Fred Leighton necklace. Now that's how you work a red carpet.
10. Gold wasn’t just for jewelry last year. Designer Reem Acra worked with "Doubt" actress, Viola Davis turning her into a shimmery gold statuette that night.
11. Australian beauty Melissa George (known for her role in "Grey's Anatomy") looked stunning in a strapless Dolce & Gabbana dress with a fitted corset top and flared mermaid hemline in last year's hottest red carpet color: bright white.
All those famous stars , famous designers and millions of Dollars later , I wonder who'll make this year's list …
